Hong Kong is in the middle of an infrastructure boom with the population set to reach 7.78 million by 2025. From rail and road projects to new skyscrapers in the city, Ampcontrol’s Hong Kong service team have been on hand to support these critical developments and keep things moving amid travel restrictions stemming from the COVID-19 pandemic. Contracted by Siemens to support their customer Chu Kong Transhipment & Logistics Co Ltd, the Ampcontrol service team recently re-tested and commissioned Siemens NXPLUS C and GIS Switchgear within the new CKS phase 2A office building in Tuen Mun, Hong Kong. The scope of this onsite service visit included a visual inspection of the 11kV GIS panels, IDMT test and functional test for 7SR protection relay, 10kV Megger Insulation Test, as well as a range of mechanical tests and checks to ensure safe and reliable operation of the switchboard. With Ampcontrol’s service team based in country, our agile team has supported a number of projects and customers since international travel restrictions were imposed.
