Declaration of Conformity – iMAC Controller

In May 2018, the iMAC / iMAC2 Controller operating system firmware was modified to extend the iMAC Module Serial Number range. These changes occurred in iMAC Controller Operating System Firmware v4.0 (O.S. v4.0). Marcus Punch Pty Ltd was engaged to perform a safety integrity verification of these changes. iMAC2 report AMP-15-01-A1 Revision 3 (including Revisions 4 & 5) and iMAC report AMP-11-05-A2 Revision 2 (including Revisions 3 & 4) assessed these changes to be in compliance with the requirements pertaining to software modification and as a result the existing safety metrics (PFD and PFH) for the iMAC Controller, iMAC2 Controller, 2-wire and 3-wire iMAC systems remain unchanged.

The iMAC LIM is an Intrinsically Safe (Ex ia), highly configurable remote indication module, which interfaces directly to the iMAC Fieldbus.

Safety Alert: ISA Burden

The user manual for the programmable ISA (Part # 121603) depicts a 1.9V DC voltage drop across the ISA when used in 4-20mA mode.

The user manual should state a voltage drop range of 1.9V – 4.3V DC.

Service Bulletin – IP and EL Relays

Updated Installation and overhaul requirements of Ampcontrol integration protection and earth leakage relays. The following information has been added to the IP relay user manuals maintenance section. This has been included due to equipment being returned to AS3800 RSF’s and the IS components not being overhauled and then returned to service, only for the user to experience nuisance tripping, reliability issues and or failure shortly thereafter.

Technical Data Sheet – EFL-IS Relay

The Ampcontrol EFL-IS relay is IECEx Ex ia certified and is compliant to AS/NZS2081:2011 sections 7 & 9. It has been designed for installation on mining outlets supplying hazardous area equipment that require earth fault lockout and frozen contact protection.

User Manual for the Ampcontrol ISA Intrinsically Safe Alarm Indicator which forms part of the Gasguard Range of Group I certified Gas Detection and Alarm Systems. The ISA Alarm Indicator is an IP 66 encapsulated, low profile visual alarm, originally designed for Group I underground applications.

Technical Data Sheet – IDA

The Ampcontrol IDA Intrinsically Safe Tri-Colour Display allows remote indication of Methane gas levels. A large 38mm high three digit, seven segment LED display indicates a number between 0 and 5.00. The display and electronic printed circuit board are housed in a cast stainless steel enclosure that has a rating of IP66 and has been certified Intrinsically Safe for Zone 0, Group I applications.

Technical Data Sheet – Gasguard CO Sensor

Ampcontrol’s Gasguard General Purpose Carbon Monoxide (CO) gas sensor is housed in a stainless steel enclosure and operates on the electrochemical principle. The sensor is two wire, 24VDC loop powered.

User Manual – Gasguard Controller

The Gasguard Programmable Intrinsically Safe controller (Controller) produced by Ampcontrol is designed to operate with a variety of hazardous area certified gas detectors. Compatible detectors are presently supplied by Ampcontrol and other manufacturers.
