Ampcontrol can manufacture a wide range of Distribution Control Boards for a series of different applications across the mining sector, including hard rock applications, underground development and longwall systems.
Power distribution around a mine site generally consists of a surface substation on site. Nearer the equipment being supplied, further switchgear is used for isolation, protection and transforming the voltage to specific operating levels. These voltages often include 1,100, 415 and even 240V. The units performing this function can have a range of specifications in line with the equipment connected and its location or Hazardous Zone Classification.
These units can be called Distribution Control Boards/Boxes (DCB), Gate End Boxes, or Load Centres.
The Ampcontrol DCB/Gate End Box range covers both hard rock and coal mining applications. Each DCB system is manufactured to customer specifications and site communication requirements, and is supported by a robust Factory Acceptance and Compatibility Testing process, followed by onsite commissioning and lifecycle management support.
