Ampcontrol Apprenticeships and Traineeships
19/12/2011

Ampcontrol has been committed to encouraging and developing the skills of aspiring manufacturers through our longstanding apprentice and trainee program. The program has been running almost every year since our inception in 1968.

Currently trainees and apprentices at Ampcontrol make up 10% of our workforce, with another 20 new recruits coming in 2012. With demand for skilled employees reaching all-time highs, we are committed to investing in the future of young people in the Hunter.

Providing opportunities to develop and foster skilled workers is invaluable, not only for Ampcontrol but the manufacturing industry as a whole. Through training pathways like apprenticeships and traineeships, we can develop and maintain a sustainable workforce to support innovative design, engineering and manufacturing demands.

When you look to the future of the manufacturing industry within the Hunter, its longevity hinges on our ability and commitment to provide long term career paths and opportunities. This means addressing critical skills shortages in trades and engineering through training and education but also leveraging off the strong position manufacturing has within the region by promoting where and how it can represent innovative, smart technology on a large scale.

Ampcontrol are also active participants in the region’s ME Program, launched by Regional Development Australia. The program partners local schools with advanced manufacturing companies to provide educational pathways that will encourage students to pursue careers in advanced manufacturing.
