Engineering Consulting

Professional engineering expertise is available to assist and advise on any aspect of a customer’s requirements.

These include:

• Failure investigation

• Operating procedures

 

Project Management

Ampcontrol provide a wide range of services covering the fields of project management, engineering design, installation and commissioning of industrial electrical and electronic equipment, from small pumping stations through to multi million dollar projects. Ampcontrol specialise in the following areas:

• Conveyor systems, including underground and surface installations plus rail loadouts, bin storage and bulk loading systems
• High voltage substations and metering yards ranging from transportable dragline substations through to large outdoor high voltage power distribution switchyards
• State of the art drift haulage and shaft winder design and installation, as well as cost effective upgrades of outdated inefficient existing installations
• Ventilation fan systems, water/sewage and irrigation pumping installations and compressor drives
• Materials handling and screening plants, as well as processing installations
• PLC and supervisory control and data acquisition systems (SCADA)

 

Maintenance Management

Ampcontrol have implemented a comprehensive computerised maintenance system to provide an extensive maintenance service to customers to ensure plant reliability and availability at all times.

Maintenance services include:

• Strategic maintenance planning
• Maintenance cost analysis
• Reliability/Defect/Failure Analysis
• Asset tracking
• Co-ordinate plant maintenance outages
• Critical plant condition monitoring trended results
• Providing a site asset register

 

Electronic Engineering

Ampcontrol support its own design/supplied product with extensive workshop and field service facilities, specialising in all aspects of control and power electronics.

Equipment serviced includes:

• Battery chargers and batteries
• SCR/VVVF drives
• Relays
• Rectiformers and rectifiers
• Traction (trams and trains)
• Conveyor monitoring and control systems(iMAC)
• Gas detectors

 

Applications Engineering

A comprehensive service for the correct installation and application of all Ampcontrol’s power, electronic, communication and gas detection products is available. The service can be provided by telephone or through a site visit by a qualified engineer.  Services provided include full installation, commissioning and fault finding service and system design and upgrades.

Engineers are particularly experienced in the application of DC systems and power electronics.

General system installations and service is also carried out and these include:

• SCADA installation and upgrades
• PLC installations
• HV and LV power factor correction testing
