Neutral Earthing Resistors
Neutral earthing resistors (NER’s) are designed to limit the fault current in power and distribution transformers and generators.The NER consists of multiple stainless steel alloy resistors and can be supplied in a galvanised or stainless steel enclosure. In smaller units, the resistor material may be nichelchromium or similar material. Resistors are available for system voltages up to 220kV with current ratings in excess of 2400A. The resistors are designed to suit operational requirements from 10 second to continuously rated.
Harmonic Filter Resistors
The resistor portion of a harmonic filter is designed to act as timed resonant sink for the targeted and to harmonics dissipate the energy associated with a particular harmonic or harmonics as I2R hear in the resistor of an RLC network.Resistor banks consist of a low inductance stainless steel alloy adequately rated to dissipate the harmonic energy as I2R+.
