High Voltage Power Factor Correction Systems

Product image

Ampcontrol offer custom designed indoor and/or outdoor systems to suit particular needs to improve power factor quality allowing optimisation of the electrical systems design capacity.

Professional engineering expertise is available to assist and advise with any aspect of the customer’s electrical requirements including system loading optimisation, kVA demand minimisation, voltage disturbance, harmonic filtering and voltage control.

Overview

Description

Systems are manufactured to the relevant Australian and International Standards under quality assurance conditions with an ongoing maintenance service support also available.

In addition to power factor correction the following supply improvement methods can be designed for:

  • Harmonic filtering
  • Voltage stabilisation
  • Surge protection
  • Ripple control

Improved system power factor can provide a saving in capital expenditure, reduce long term operating costs and improve the efficiency of the plant and/or installation by:

  • Reducing cost tariffs from the supply authority
  • Reducing system losses due to increase efficiency
  • Reducing system voltage drop to improve motor starting
  • Reducing overload results in the installed equipment having extended life and reduced maintenance cycles
  • Allows full rating use of installed cables, transformers, switchgear and control equipment

Features:

  • Custom system design
  • Flexibility of design
  • Modular construction
  • Indoor or outdoor applications
  • Engineering expertise assistance

Benefits:

  • Reduced tariffs
  • Improved system efficiency
  • Improved voltage stability
  • Reduced component loadings
  • Increased kVA availability of existing system
  • Reduced I2R losses
