The Burn Brite Longwall Mine Lighting system is modular in design, and can be installed quickly and with ease.
As each mine has its own specific and unique requirements, the system can be configured to best meet these needs.
A typical installation consists of lead-in power cables, isolator boxes, lights, inter-shield power cables, and IS power supply enclosures.
To provide a flexible and unique system, the Burn Brite equipment employs single and multiple hazardous area protection techniques. The technologies include, but are not limited to:
Lights are available in compact or linear lamp formats, and LED arrays. They are designed to operate on specific mine or machine supply voltages. Burn Brite’s ‘one nut’ closure system ensures quick and easy maintenance of the light. The magnet mounts allow for quick and flexible placement of the lights. All systems are factory tested before dispatch.
Ex e and Ex m isolator boxes are manufactured from 316 grade stainless steel and incorporate explosion protected components and vibration resistant terminals. The low maintenance design simplifies underground inspections. Multiple outlet isolator boxes are available to power extra lights, chock controls or other equipment. The components of the system are manufactured inhouse, ensuring spare parts are readily available and down time is reduced.
