The SF6 Leak Detector is an extractive gas sampling system designed for the continuous detection and monitoring of gas leaks, in particular Sulfur Hexafluoride (SF6).

The system houses an in-built gas sensor which is designed to enhance the detection sensitivity of SF6.

SF6 is a colourless, odourless, non-toxic and non-flammable gas used in the electrical industry as a gaseous dielectric for high voltage circuit breakers, switchgear and other electrical equipment.

Although SF6 is a non-toxic gas, inhaling higher concentrations can displace oxygen in the body and results in asphyxiation. The SF6 Leak Detector reduces this risk with the ability to detect SF6 between 50 and 200ppm.
