Ampcontrol’s Gasguard range of sensors and controllers have been developed specifically for the coal mining industry. The products are designed to tolerate the arduous and demanding conditions synonymous with mining environments. All products are entity approved and certified Intrinsically Safe for use in hazardous areas in underground coal mines.

They are designed, manufactured and serviced through QA and NATA certified workshop facilities in Australia, backed by local customer support and engineering personnel. Infra red technology uses a thermo electric detector to sense the infra red energy specific to the absorption wavelength of Carbon Dioxide. This technique is specific to the gas or gases that absorb the infra red energy in the wavelength selected. As such there are no interfering gases and the transmitter reading is highly accurate due to the absence of cross sensitivity.
