When Ampcontrol acquired MM/ATF Mining’s Electrical Equipment Manufacturing Division both companies were successful in the local design and manufacture of mining electrics. Neither company had the size to dominate the market. 

Combining the expertise of both companies allowed for the creation an Australian mining electrical design and manufacturing company capable of competing on an international level. The following year MM/ATF was incorporated into the Ampcontrol Group as ATF Mining Electrics Pty Ltd. It operated from an existing site in Cardiff, NSW.
