As part of a national branding strategy, various companies within the Group were brought under the Ampcontrol brand. In 1982, the holding company established in 1971, Newmeadow, changed its name to Ampcontrol. It was felt that Ampcontrol was more descriptive and relevant to the marketplace.
Almost 10 years on, a common name for all Group companies was seen as necessary to demonstrate the size of the Group and allow the company to better compete on big projects. Raelec Engineering’s name changed to Ampcontrol SWG Pty Ltd. Scientechnic, EPA and Austin & Allen changed to Ampcontrol EPD Pty Ltd. RES Pty Ltd name changed to Ampcontrol RES Pty Ltd. In 1992, Electroswitch changed to Ampcontrol CSM Pty Ltd, bringing all the companies under the one brand.
