Raelec Products was initially formed to enable HES to design and draft specifications for its products, but soon became a switchboard manufacturer.

Cotton was an emerging product in Australia at the time. Raelec recognised the need in that industry for products to support ginning and irrigation. In December, 1969 the first cotton ginning and irrigation motor control switchboards and gin console were designed for Auscott. It continued to supply this flagship product to the industry for many years.
